Rebecca of Morgan Manor

Rebecca of Morgan Manor is the historical novel I want to someday try my hand at. This story is not developed at all but I'm thinking a fun mystery set in late 1700's perhaps early 1800's Scotland.
General character bio on Rebecca:
An unapologetic, clumsy, Lucille Ball sort of character, funny, in need of rescue of herself, finds her true love. But will she grow up in time to see that the man she is engaged to is only after her family's fortune including her childhood home, Morgan Manor. More so, will she realize that the man who constantly rescues her from evil plots is the real man of her dreams.
Can she run Morgan Manor by herself and uphold its responsibilities not only to her family but to the community at large or will she lose it all in a single act of deceit?
Searching the web one day, I came across the ruins of Dunnottar; see images below. It sets on Scotland's northeast coast overlooking the North Sea. I fell in love. I just knew this would be the place for Rebecca's story to be told.
I'm not sure when I'll get around to working this one out but please check back later for more developments. Thank you.
Dunnottar images not mine.
